Continuation after Nikhila left searching for Anitha

Subhash's POV

For the first time in my 29 years old, I felt peace just by hearing her anklets sound when I entered the temple

What's wrong with me she looks like a kid in front of me, but she's cute, and what happened to her face looks like someone has slapped her

And why does she look so worried, did something happen to her, and why I'm worried about her she's just a stranger

I wish at least I could thank her, but she ran off like a wind

My thoughts broke when Shashank tugged me "Bhai where are you lost. I was calling you for 20 minutes," Shashank says, taking the stuff that he bought for the temple

"Nothing," Subhash said and walked inside with Shashank

With that, both of them went inside and finished their darshan quickly

They both come out and quickly two girls stop Subhash and Shashank

"What do you want," Subhash and Shashank asked the girls

"I'm Pooja" The girl said who's standing in front of Subhash

"I'm Priya" Says another girl standing in front of Shashank

"So?" Subhash asks looking at them

"If you're free then can we go on a date" Priya asks Shashank

"No. I'm off - limits" Shashank replies firmly

"What about you" Pooja looked at Subhash

"No. I'm asexual" Subhash replies sternly leaving no room for argument

The girls walk back feeling disappointed

"How can they even ask for a date with a stranger" Subhash muttered annoyingly but instantly gets calm hearing Nikhila's anklet sound

"Exactly" Shashank remarks getting annoyed but gets confused seeing Subhash immediate calmness

"Bhai let's bring Prasad" Shashank says

Subhash nods both of them go to Prasad counter and buy the Prasad. Shashank starts eating Prasad "You come to temple for eating Prasad right" Subhash remarks sarcastically

"Nope. I get peace when I come here" Shashank replies sincerely

Just then a beggar arrived to them for money and Subhash immediately gave him the Prasad packet which he held in his hands and also gave him some money

"Bhagwan aapka raksha zaroor karega" The beggar blessed Subhash feeling grateful for the help

(God will definitely protect you)

After finishing eating the Prasad, Subhash and Shashank drive back to their apartment

"Bhai let's order outside. I don't feel like cooking" Shashank says dramatically

"No" Subhash says firmly and Shashank pouts

"Don't make this face now it won't melt me now" Subhash says

"You know what I pity for your future partner. Wait, no -- scratch it. If I ever meet your girlfriend I will touch her feet to tolerate you." Shashank says with the pouty face

"Done with your drama" Subhash asks annoyingly

"No, I'm so serious bhai" Shashank retorts back

"I agree with Shashank" Vaishnav says who arrived back from the orphanage

"You two will never change. Do whatever you want" Subhash says rolling his eyes

While Subhash was about to go to his study, his mobile ran loudly starling Shashank and Vaishnav. Subhash's face darkens with anger and rage after seeing the name flashing on his mobile screen. They're the last one he expects to call him especially after the loss they caused him

"What is it now" He asked harshly to the other person on the line. No greetings, no pleasantries just one straightforward question which shocks the other person seeing the transformation in him

"Are you going to talk or are you planning to stay mute Ms. Mittal" Subhash asked. His tone is sharp like a blade stating he's in no mood for talks

"Subhash, please don't like this" Ms. Mittal requested

"Like what, Ms. Mittal" Subhash asks his tone is the same sharp as knife

"Fine, I regret leaving you" Ms. Mittal said

"So what do you want me to do for that" Subhash asks

"Please come back I realized that I can't live without you" Ms. Mittal says

"Why did my parents ask you to do this" Subhash asks his tone was at the edge

Ms. Mittal's face lost its color and a sense of shame and embarrassment rushed into her body as he caught her red - handed "N... No, Subhash" Ms. Mittal stutters badly

"Never ever call me again, Ms. Shreya Mittal" Subhash growls harshly and hangs up the call

Instead of going to the study room, Subhash went to the bar which is in the apartment. He takes the bottle of scotch and starts drinking it like water. Subhash throat burns with the amber liquid he's having but he didn't care much because all he wants is to control the rage inside him

Shashank and Vaishnav looks from outside the room their faces are etched with worry and concern for his older brother and his best friend. Before things get complicated, both entered the room Vaishnav pushed the bottle away and Shashank held the Subhash

"Bhai please control yourself" Shashank asks looking at Subhash with tears

Subhash tries to control his rage after seeing tears in his younger brother's eyes but calms down hearing wind chimes sound as it's similar to the anklets sound he heard in the temple

Vaishnav looks at his best friend "Are you alright, Subhash" asks him while hugging his best friend

"Yeah, better now" Subhash says his anger was forgotten which was moments ago which made Vaishnav and Shashank eyes widen in shock and amusement

"Bhai what happened to you since you came back from the temple. The person who is known for silence gets calm by hearing wind chimes sound" Shashank asks annoyingly

"Wait what exactly happened" Vaishnav asks Shashank

"How do I know what happened to him" Shashank replies walking out of the bar room and orders the food

"Spill the beans, Mr. Agnihotri" Vaishnav says sternly

"Fine." takes a deep breath before continuing "I saw a girl in the temple" says as if it's nothing shocking Vaishnav and Shashank who came to inform them about arriving of food

"When did this happen" Shashank asks shockingly

"The time you were taking a holy bath in the lake" Subhash says

"Did you see her"

"What's her name"

"Is she good looking"

"Did you talk to her"

Vaishnav and Shashank bombards questions at Subhash like investigation officers

"One more question from both of you I don't even know what I'm going to do" Subhash says making both Vaishnav and Shashank silent immediately

"First answer yes I saw her"

"Second I don't know her name"

"Third yes she's cute and good looking but shorter than me"

"Fourth no I didn't talk"

"Why" Both Shashank and Vaishnav exclaimed shockingly

"What happened is I heard a pair of anklets sound when I entered the temple

I don't know why I feel some calm and relief washed over me

When I was waiting for Shashank I again heard the sound as soon as I turned to see who it is I felt her palm under my feet because I was about to step on a sharp coconut piece

Then I looked at her properly

She looks cute and pretty but worried

Point to be noted the anklet girl and the girl who kept her palm not to get me injured is the same

And why the hell her worried face is unsettling me that much"

Subhash sighs and sits back on the couch

"Because you fell in love, Mr. Lover Boy" Vaishnav remarks and Shashank nods as if agreeing with him

"You guys know my past" Subhash retorts at Vaishnav

"Every time the ending won't be the same, bhai" Shashank retorts

"Let's. Just. Not. Jump. Into. Conclusions" Subhash says his voice is low and controlled

"As you wish and the food has arrived I'm damn hungry man" Shashank says diverting the topic

"Yeah let's go" Vaishnav says

"Now don't get lost in thoughts and eat something" adds knowing his best friend very well

"And before you say no for eating I won't even step inside the gym if you don't eat now" Vaishnav says threateningly knowing only this would work on his best friend

"Don't use this trick next time" Subhash says his voice is little stern

Vaishnav sticks out his tongue playfully

With that three of them ate their lunch with Shashank and Vaishnav banters

After lunch Subhash and Vaishnav checked the emails from the company and responded to the emails

Meanwhile, Shashank tries to sleep but couldn't because of the image flashing in his mind

But calms down hearing her name "ANITHA"

The way she said her voice barely whispered but it gave him peace

Shashank POV

What's happening to me since I went to the temple

It's the same temple I've been visiting over years

Why it's like this

Something new

Something special

And peaceful

When I was taking a holy bath in the lake suddenly someone fell into the lake. In my arms.

I thought she was going to kill herself

I immediately came out holding her and put her on the ground

Pressed her stomach a little and the water came out from her mouth

She coughed a little and sat up "Thank you" She whispered

"Before you start lecturing about something, I wasn't trying to take my life and I just slipped in the lake while doing Parikrama that's it" She said

He nodded and gave her his hand "Shashank" He said

"Thank you Shashank. Btw I'm Anitha" She said her voice barely whispered but it gave him peace

"I'm sorry. I might have disturbed your time in the temple right" She said her voice is sincere and her face looks apologetic

"It's okay" He responded softly to make her feel at ease

With that she ran away faster than light

Her presence makes me calm just like the moon

But how the hell did she read my mind like a psychiatrist

With that he played a Chinese drama named "THE FIRST FROST" and started watching till episode 5

In the evening

Subhash and Shashank were scrolling their mobiles lazily. Meanwhile Vaishnav entered the house holding Cherry (those who read chapter 2 will know who cherry is)

Cherry suddenly barks seeing Subhash and Shashank which make them drop their mobiles

"What the hell, bhai. Since when did you start mimicking puppy" Shashank asks Vaishnav thinking that he might have mimicked the voice

"Who made you a police officer, Shashank. Can't you differentiate a puppy voice and a man mimicking" Subhash retorts seeing Vaishnav and Cherry with raised eyebrow

"Elaborate bhai" Shashank asks Vaishnav taking Cherry from him

"Actually what happened is while coming back from the grocery store I saw Cherry was getting hit by a car I took him but a girl pulled me towards her as a truck was about to hit me

"Are you mad what if something happens to you then" She shouts at the other person pulling back from the hug

"And why do you care so much for the person just you meet" That person remarks checking the puppy if it has got any injuries

"I'm not talking about myself, Mr. Stranger" Deepika retorts back

"Vaishnav... I'm Vaishnav" Vaishnav corrects her

"Deepika" She kept her hand forward as a handshake

"Nice to meet you, Ms. Saviour" Vaishnav forwards the puppy's paw to her

"Same here, Mr. Stranger" Deepika says

"Deep, are you planning to become a midnight superhero by saving someone" Darshana speaks up startling Deepika and Vaishnav

Vaishnav and Darshana make curious looks at each other

"Mr. Stranger... Sorry Vaishnav this is Darshana my younger sister" Deepika says pointing at Darshana

"Darsh he is Vaishnav" Deepika says pointing at Vaishnav

"Nice to meet you" both say and shake their hands

"What you're going to do with this puppy" Deepika asks pointing at the puppy

"I'll take it to my home" Vaishnav says casually

"What are you going to name it then" Darshana asks curiously

"How about Snoopy" Vaishnav asks

"So boring. How about cherry" Darshana asks and adds "She's looking cute like a cherry. What say" Darshana asks them excitedly

"Perfect" Both Vaishnav and Deepika exclaims

"So will you let us meet cherry, Mr. Stranger" Deepika asks playfully

"Of course, Ms. Saviour" Vaishnav remarks

"If Mr. Stranger and Ms. Saviour drama episode ends then can we leave now" Darshana asks

"Yeah I'm getting late too" Vaishnav says going towards his bike holding the puppy aka cherry and drives back to the apartment

This has happened" Vaishnav says sitting on the couch

"Ohh Mr. Stranger and Ms. Saviour

Cherry

Nice progress bhai" Shashank smirks teasingly

"I want to keep the cherry with us. You both don't have any problem right" Vaishnav asks

Both of them nod which makes Vaishnav hug both the brothers

With that three of them had their dinner, Subhash fed cherry after he ate meanwhile Vaishnav washed the dishes and Shashank made a small bed for Cherry in his room

"Cherry will sleep with me" Shashank says taking Cherry from Subhash's arms and looks at both of them with puppy eyes which melts their both nods at him and Cherry snuggles into him

With that three of them dispersed into their rooms and called it a day

But for Shashank the night is so young because he has insomnia so he played with Cherry for sometime and Cherry too slept so turned on the TV in his room and played the first frost drama from episode 6 which he stopped watching in the evening
